Abigail: Empowering Young Girls — A Journey of Hope and Resilience

At Love Treks, we believe in the power of stories to inspire change, deepen connection, and remind us why we give. This story comes from one of our incredible advocates, Abigail, whose daily work and deep compassion are transforming the lives of young girls, who have survived unimaginable hardship. Through her dedication, these victims are not only finding safety and healing—they are beginning to dream again. This is her story of hope, resilience, and the journey of empowering the next generation of strong, courageous girls.

A Conversation with Abigail

Right now, 18 incredible young girls live with us—each on her own unique path of healing, growth, and transformation. To better support their needs, we’ve created two separate houses: one for our younger girls and one for the teens. While this separation brings its own set of challenges, it offers each group the space to grow, learn, and support one another. These girls are not just survivors—they are dreamers, future leaders, and powerful young women in the making. We are committed to helping them realize their full potential.

College Dreams: Excitement and Challenges

In addition to educational hurdles, many of the girls face serious challenges with their citizenship status. Some have no official documentation. Others have no parents or don’t know the identity of their fathers. Two of our girls were born as a result of rape. These circumstances complicate their legal rights and limit future opportunities—but we are committed to walking beside them with hope and resilience as we navigate these barriers together.

Citizenship Struggles: Overcoming Legal Barriers

In addition to educational hurdles, many of the girls face serious challenges with their citizenship status. Some have no official documentation. Others have no parents or don’t know the identity of their fathers. Two of our girls were born as a result of rape. These circumstances complicate their legal rights and limit future opportunities—but we are committed to walking beside them with hope and resilience as we navigate these barriers together.

A Heartfelt Thank You

In the midst of all these challenges, I want to pause and say thank you—from the bottom of my heart. Your continued support plays a vital role in giving these girls hope, healing, and the strength to move beyond the pain of their pasts. They have experienced more hardship than many of us can imagine, yet today, they are becoming change-makers in their communities—breaking down barriers and building a better future.

We deeply appreciate your involvement in this mission. Together, we’re not just supporting these girls—we’re helping them grow into confident, compassionate leaders who will inspire change for generations to come.

Sincerely,
Abigail
